# Static analysis and checks

## Before you start

The native source/configuration and required analysis tools, such as cppcheck for its checks.

## Workflow

Open Static Analysis/Checks, run the relevant checks and navigate findings to source. Fix or justify each finding in project context. Keep tool version and configuration with the results.

## Interpret the result

No findings does not establish absence of defects or compliance certification. Macro configuration and generated headers affect analysis.

For an unexplained result, preserve the source/configuration and observation together. Use [Diagnose a failure](/workflows/diagnose) to turn it into a reproducible investigation. Check [support boundaries](/reference/limitations) before assuming a vendor-specific operation is implemented.
