# Logic analyzer

## Before you start

A compatible capture file or supported analyzer/capture backend.

## Workflow

Import a supported CSV or sigrok capture, or configure an available capture source. Map channels to protocol signals before decoding. Set protocol parameters such as SPI mode from the actual bus configuration.

## Interpret the result

Debug-based GPIO probing is not equivalent to a dedicated high-rate logic analyzer. Sampling limits and wrong channel mappings can invalidate a decode.

For an unexplained result, preserve the source/configuration and observation together. Use [Diagnose a failure](/workflows/diagnose) to turn it into a reproducible investigation. Check [support boundaries](/reference/limitations) before assuming a vendor-specific operation is implemented.
