Preserve a faulting state for review.

Before you start

A halted debug session, or a supported imported ELF core file.

Workflow

Pause at the failure and use Capture now in Core Snapshot. Review stack, CPU registers and the captured memory window. Export useful snapshots to persist them and retain the matching ELF.

Interpret the result

Snapshots kept only in memory are lost when the session/application closes. A limited memory window is not a full system dump. For an unexplained result, preserve the source/configuration and observation together. Use Diagnose a failure to turn it into a reproducible investigation. Check support boundaries before assuming a vendor-specific operation is implemented.
