Use the native CMake project when available. Inspect the .ioc and generated startup/linker files before changing part or board. The configured part is project intent, not proof of the physical chip connected to your probe. For managed CubeIDE projects, the headless build path requires a working CubeIDE installation and recognized native project metadata. Confirm the exact project/configuration in its output. Select a compatible ST-Link, J-Link or supported backend connection. Use the correct flash algorithm and exact target configuration. A Cortex-M core name does not establish FPU presence, ABI, flash size or pin mapping. Load the matching SVD to supplement source hover and register inspection.
