User settings	Editor appearance, shortcuts, host tool locations and personal preferences

Use the project overview, Build Setup and Target Configuration for routine setup. You do not need to author prescaler.json to understand the workflow. Existing projects may use that file for explicit device/SVD/build hints; treat it as Prescaler metadata, not a replacement for the native SDK project. Project settings are stored under .prescaler/settings.json; saved debug configurations and operation records are also project metadata. Review changes before committing. Do not store credentials in these files. A board label is descriptive. A debug-device override changes debugger intent. Neither one changes the native compiler target. See changing device.
